The Groves Activities
BIBLE STUDY – (Barbara Hawkins 235-9707) The Bible Study
meets every Thursday 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. in the ballroom at the clubhouse.
Join us at any time in the study.
BINGO
– (Dave Thompson 996-4477) Groves’ residents get together the 2nd
Wed. of every month for some Bingo fun and a chance to win a little
pocket money and prizes. We even have our own resident Bingo callers! It’s
a great way to meet new friends.
BIRDING – (Jay Robb 838-1732)
This group of bird watchers meet in the clubhouse parking lot by the
tennis courts and travel through the community on foot looking for the
many different species that thrive here.
BOOK CLUB

BOCCE BALL

The Groves have teams and competition; but never fear,
newcomers are welcome and instruction is provided. Substitutes needed.
BUNCO

game of dice, luck & prizes. Join us at the Clubhouse the 1st
Wednesday of the month to participate in a fun filled evening. No
experience necessary.

Bridge

(Days) We have a fun group that meets every Monday 7:00 PM. Wednesday
1:00 PM in our Card Room.
Canasta

groups playing every Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Men, Women and Beginners are
welcome. Thursday “Ladies Only” from 1 to 4 PM in the card room contact

are welcome. We will teach you how to play and would love to have you.

in the ballroom.
CERAMICS CLASS – (Call Henriette 920-2782) We have an
excellent instructor who holds classes Monday afternoons and evenings. No
experience necessary. Come and give your creative side a shot!
CRAFT CLUB
– (Jan LoBianco 929-0154) We’re in the craft room every Thursday
afternoon from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm doing just about anything you could
possibly wish to create. Bring yourself and creative ideas for a great
time.
FITNESS INSTRUCTION - (Roberta Tompkins 996-1016) A personal
trainer works with our residents from 10 to noon on Wednesdays and Fridays
in the Ballroom for floor & stretch work. Cost is $23.00 for 18 classes.
GARDEN CLUB – (Carin Bicker 235-9291)
Meets the
second Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am in the Ballroom.
GOLF

HELP OUR NEIGHBORS – (Pat Horbett 995-9170) Our mission is to
encourage anyone who needs assistance with non-emergency transportation to
doctor or dental appointments, or a pharmacy, etc. to contact me. One of
our committee members will be happy to see to your needs.
KARAOKE
- Lookout for a karaoke dance & party night! Join Dan, JD, and Joe for
great dance and sing-a-long fun. Wireless microphones, lyrics on big
screen TV & karaoke monitor add to the good time!
LINE DANCING
- (Betsy Sergent 383-3398) Come join the fun every Tuesday
afternoon from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm in the Ballroom. The cost is $5.00
per class.
OIL PAINTING CLASS
- (Kathleen Durham 995-0179)Whether
you are an experienced artist or one who is just beginning this class is
for you. Our instructor is tops and students turn out amazing works of
art. The class meets at 9 AM & 2 PM on Wednesdays in the craft room. Come
try the class out!
PANCAKE BREAKFAST

The pancake breakfast is held the 3rd Saturday of each month from 7-9:30
AM in the ballroom at Clubhouse. We have blueberry and buttermilk
pancakes, eggs, sausage, OJ, toast and coffee. All this for just $3.00 per
person.
POT LUCK DINNER – (Marge
Whaley 996-4526 & Carolyn Hurley 996-1911) Potluck is held
the 4th Sunday of each month at 5:30 PM (unless changed due to
holidays) in the ballroom of the Clubhouse. Each household brings a dish
that feeds 8 people. Bring dishes, silverware and drink. First time
guests do not bring a dish to share. Reserved seating for two is
scattered at tables throughout the room with existing residents to help
newcomers get acquainted. Come be our guest.
RED HAT SOCIETY- We have 5 chapters of ladies and a 6th
is in the making. If interested in joining a new chapter sign-up on the
Bulletin Board in the Clubhouse. Someone will call you.
SCRABBLE

Blake 996-1559) Every Friday morning we meet in the card room from 10
AM to 12 Noon. Everyone is welcome to join us even you beginners.
SOCIAL CLUB

The Social Club is an all volunteer community organization dedicated to
providing social and recreational activities
for our
members.
The
Club’s programs provide a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and make
new friends while enjoying great activities right here in the community.
Club membership is open to all Groves residents and costs only $5.00 per
person per year (additional fees may apply for late applications).
TENNIS
– (Vickie Schoon 995-9815) Tennis meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and
Friday beginning at 9 AM on the Courts. Players of all levels welcome.

information on tournaments and activities.

Meets at 7pm, the
3rd
Wednesday of every month.
We have everything from day trips to 10-day excursions. Check
the Bulletin Board in the Clubhouse to see the latest offerings.

)Come join us on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m..
Bring a foam water noodle in the color of your choice and be ready for
some fun!
