Welcome! Welcome to The Groves Social Club, an all volunteer community organization dedicated to providing social and recreational activities for our members. The Club’s programs provide a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and make new friends while enjoying great activities right here in the community. Club membership is open to all Groves residents and costs only $5.00 per person per year (additional fees may apply for late applications). Events! The Social Club sponsors the following popular events every month: BUNCO - the first Wednesday at 7:00p.m. BINGO - the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00p.m. PANCAKE BREAKFAST - the third Saturday from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. - $3.00 buys you a great homemade breakfast of eggs, sausage, pancakes and toast served with OJ and coffee. POTLUCK SUPPER - the fourth Sunday at 5:30p.m. – Couples bring a dish to feed 8-10 (singles dish to feed 6-8) plus your own plates, utensils and beverage and enjoy a delicious buffet of entrees, salads and desserts. First time guests bring only your plates, utensils and beverage. In addition to these regular scheduled programs, the Club sponsors dances, parties and performances throughout the year to celebrate, among others, New Years Eve, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, St. Valentine’s Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. The Club also hosts a welcoming community dinner on Thanksgiving, and helps light up the Groves for Christmas with our annual Golf Cart Parade and Chili supper. Charges for events are nominal to cover expenses. It’s easy to keep track of upcoming Social Club events in THE GROVES CONNECTION.
A Partnership! The Social Club is managed by four volunteer officers, each elected for a one-year term. Given the number and kinds of events we sponsor, the Social Club could not even hope to accomplish its mission without the enthusiasm and participation of its members. What can you do? First, come to our general membership meetings held every quarter and share your ideas on how we can make our Club even better. Second, volunteer, volunteer, volunteer! We depend on volunteers for every event we sponsor. Whether you are interested in event set-up and tear-down; firing up the barbeques; chairing a dance; or creating tickets and signs, we can offer you a friendly and creative environment in which to volunteer.
